| March 2010 | Follies | Follies is a cult show by the legendary American composer Stephen Sondheim. This was the first time that SWMTC have presented a musical by the highly regarded Broadway musician. The story is set in a crumbling Broadway theatre, scheduled for demolition. It focuses upon a reunion of former showgirls who performed in a Ziegfeld-style follies review between the wars. The ex-show girls are brought together one last time before the theatre, in which they had performed in their youth, is torn down to put up a parking lot. The story focuses upon a love triangle between ex-show girls Sally and Phyllis, and their partners Ben and Buddy. |

| November 2009 | Godspell | Godspell is that rarest of musicals - a show that combines Broadway and West End success with chart-topping style. The cult rock musical was a smash hit on both sides of the atlantic when it opened in 1971. It was also a smash hit for our Youth Group! The structure of the musical is that of a series of parables, based on the Gospel of Matthew. These are interspersed with a variety of modern music set primarily to lyrics from traditional hymns. |

| May 2009 | Blitz! | Blitz! is a musical by Lionel Bart, most famous for Oliver, and is set in the East End of London during the Blitz. Infact the story draws on Bart's childhood memories of London's Jewish East End. The story focuses on two families, the Jewish Blitzteins and the Cockney Lockes. Mrs. Blitztein and Alfie Locke have adjacent stalls on Petticoat Lane: she sells herring, he sells fruit; they do not like each other. Their children, Georgie Locke and Carol Blitztein, are in love with one another. |
